Values Code

Saint Mary Catholic School is committed to creating an environment that affirms the dignity of all persons within the school community.       

SMCS adopted the character education program entitled Values First.  Students, parents, and teachers are encouraged to exhibit the following values:

Honesty:  I will be an honest person.
Respect:  I am respectful of others.
Responsibility:  I take responsibility for what I am supposed to do.
Self-control:  I will control my actions and words.
Hard Work:  I take pride in being a hard worker.
Self-Respect:  I have self-respect
Forgiveness:  I can forgive those who do me wrong.
Courage:  I will be brave in facing life’s challenges.
Self-Knowledge:  I will pursue knowledge of myself.
Concern for Others:  I will show concern for all other people.
Tolerance:  I am tolerant of others.
Cooperation:  I will cooperate with those around me.
Fairness:  I show fairness to those with whom I come in contact.
