STAND
The Archdiocese of Baltimore is committed to providing a safe environment for children entrusted to the school’s care.
In order to meet this objective the following requirements must be met if a volunteer will have Substantial Contact with children. Adults who plan to help with a party, chaperone a field trip, or volunteer in any capacity at school must fulfill all the requirements to receive a Volunteer Compliance Card. The requirements are as follows:
- Application for Volunteer Service completed;
- Names of references provided and checked;
- VolunteerSelect Criminal Screening completed; and
- Training received regarding child abuse and protection of children, including STAND video.
A packet including all required forms may be picked up in the school office or go to the Archdiocese of Baltimore website at http://www.archbalt.org/STAND/volunteers.cfm and download the required forms. Training sessions are available through Saint Mary Parish by calling the business office at (301) 739-0390 EXT. 114 or by going online at http://www.archbalt.org/STAND/training.cfm. (Username is stmaryhagerstown and the password is archbalt.) All completed forms including the online Certificate of Completion must be delivered to the STAND Coordinator (Mike Morrell) in the Parish Center.
